Redesign the checkout experience of InkStation.com.au. It was the first phrase of redesigning the whole platform in order to optimise for better user experience and conversion rate.

Due to the NDA signed, some of the details may not be disclosed.

Brief

To improve the conversion rate by redesigning the checkout experience of the e-commerce platform. Shorten the time spent on checkout process.

Design Process

 

User Research

To better understanding the user behaviors and identify the users’ pain points in the checkout, a throughout user research was conducted via analytical tools, interviews with internal stakeholders and customer database.

Competitor Analysis

Reviewed the existing platforms in the eCommerce industry as well as websites of the ink & toner businesses. Identified the patterns of industry leaders and see what could have Ink Station done better.

Prototyping

After consolidating the research findings and confirming the design solutions, wireframes were developed and converted it into clickable prototype for desktop and mobile version.

Iterate and Optimize

The design process includes a lot of trial and error. Different design variables were implemented then tested by real users to see the actual result before the final deployment. It requires statistical significant improvement on the user journey or conversion rate when comparing to the old checkout.
